Why Braces?

Braces are one of the most effective and reliable methods for straightening teeth, correcting bite problems, and enhancing long-term oral health. Fixed braces are particularly effective in addressing common orthodontic issues, including overcrowding, gaps between teeth, and jaw misalignment (malocclusions). The result is not just a healthier bite, but also a smile you can feel proud of.

Many patients come to us feeling self-conscious about their teeth, often avoiding smiling in photos or experiencing anxiety in social situations. Under the specialist care of Dr Orolloga, braces provide a trusted solution, delivering predictable, lasting results and renewed confidence.

Types of Braces We Offer

Through our Oxford-based orthodontic clinic, we offer several types of braces. They’re all highly effective but offer different benefits - here’s what is involved for each:
The classic “train track” style, metal fixed braces use strong metal brackets and wires fitted to the front of your teeth. They are highly effective, durable, and typically the most affordable option. Treatment usually takes 18 to 24 months, depending on the complexity of your case. Patients can also choose coloured elastics to personalise their smile during treatment.
For patients who want completely hidden treatment, lingual braces (also called “Incognito braces”) are fitted behind the teeth, out of sight. These devices are precision-crafted to fit your teeth and arch shape perfectly, resulting in fewer practice visits. Our specialist Orthodontist, Dr Orolloga is a certified “Elite” provider of these braces and holds a Master's in Incognito Lingual Orthodontics - so you’re in the best possible hands.
Our lingual braces offer the most discrete treatment option of all our braces - concealed behind the teeth. These devices are precision-crafted to fit your teeth and arch shape perfectly, resulting in fewer practice visits. Our specialist Orthodontist, Dr Orolloga is a certified “Elite” provider of these braces and holds a Masters in Incognito Lingual Orthodontics - so you’re in the best possible hands.

Our Braces Treatment Process

Getting started couldn’t be easier - here’s what to expect on your journey to a straighter, healthier smile:
 Consultation icon

Your journey begins with a free consultation with one of our treatment coordinators. If you’d like to proceed, we then carry out a full orthodontic assessment;

  • £135 for adults
  • FREE for under-18s.

This includes digital scans and photographs so we can understand your teeth in detail and recommend the most suitable treatment options.

Based on your assessment, we create a tailored treatment plan outlining your expected treatment duration and any preparatory steps. Using advanced imaging and digital models, we precisely map how your teeth will move, ensuring accurate and effective results.

Fitting the Devise
When your braces are ready, your orthodontist will carefully attach the brackets to your teeth and connect them with an archwire. You may feel some initial tightness or mild discomfort, but this usually eases within a few days as your mouth adjusts.
Dentist Checkup
Throughout your treatment, you’ll attend regular appointments (typically every 8–10 weeks, though this does vary depending on the type of brace chosen) so we can check your progress and make adjustments, such as tightening your archwire. These visits are a vital step to ensure your treatment stays on track.
Metallic Fixed Braces
Once your braces are removed, we’ll provide you with a custom retainer to keep your smile beautifully straight. Wearing your retainer as advised is essential to prevent your teeth from moving back, a process known as orthodontic relapse.

"Accessible orthodontics were incredibly helpful as I decided on my Invisalign treatment. Nestor was very patient and understanding as I asked for certain things to be adjusted, as I carried on through my treatment. Everything is very specified to how you’d like your ending result to look like and is a really healing experience after disappointing results from previous treatment elsewhere. I can’t thank Nestor and his team more for everything they’ve done as I’ve completed my Invisalign treatment, the results are more than I could have hoped for, I really recommend it."

"I was fitted in quickly and very happy with the product I received, but a special mention to the members of staff who were all lovely and made me feel at ease as someone who doesn't have the best history with dental settings. Can't recommend highly enough!"

    FAQs

How do I know if I need braces?

If you have crooked, crowded, or misaligned teeth, or issues with your bite (such as overbite or underbite), you may benefit from braces. Even if it’s just something you don’t like about your teeth (perhaps small gaps between the teeth), we will be able to get them just how you want them! A consultation with our orthodontist will determine the best treatment for your needs. In many cases, your dentist may also refer you to us.

    Is getting braces painful?

Don’t worry, fitting braces is not painful, though you may experience mild discomfort for a few days after they have been fitted as your teeth adjust. Regular adjustments may cause temporary pressure, which subsides quickly.
